The Emergency Towing Vessel (ETV) ABEILLE LIBERTE and her sister-ship the ABEILLE BOURBON, were both built in the Norwegian shipyard of Kleven Marine and designed by the architect Sigmund Borgundvaag.
She was christened in Cherbourg on November 17, 2005 by Admiral Edouard Guillaud in the presence of Annie Blanchet, her godmother.
Since 2005, L’ABEILLE LIBERTE has been serving the rescue station of Cherbourg.
