Assistance to the bulk carrier Citius
The Citius, a bulk carrier 287 m long and 45 m wide, with a draft of 10.70 meters, carrying 76,000 tonnes of coal, from Rotterdam ran aground in the Seine river on December 18, 2016 at the fire of the Lillebonne dock. While navigation is stopped on the river, many means of intervention are deployed to reflect the bulk carrier. Thanks to the intervention of the Abeille Liberté, to the power of its side thrusters and to its maneuvering capacities, a trailer can be sent on the front deck of the Citius, and the ship pulled out of this mess. The current still strong at this time of the tide makes the maneuver particularly delicate.
The ship is safely towed by the Abeille Liberté to the quay of Radicatel.
