Assistance to the Huntetal
On Thursday 19 August, the 88-metre long cargo ship Huntetal, flag of Antigua & Barbuda and carrying railway rails, suffered mechanical damage some thirty miles south-west of the Pointe du Raz. The cargo ship left the Spanish port of Gijon on the evening of Tuesday 17 August and was bound for the Finnish port of Hamina. The owner of the cargo ship called on the services of the Abeille Bourbon which, after authorisation from the French authorities, sailed from port of Brest at around 9am to join the cargo ship.
After making fast the towing line at around midday, the convoy arrived in Brest in the early evening of Thursday 19 August. The Huntetal was then safely moored in the port of Brest for repairs.
